The mission of the Lapeer County Intermediate School District is to promote, initiate, and implement educational and support services for its constituent local districts; engage in cooperative programs with other entities; and plan, implement, and carry out programs that promote the educational, career, and service needs of the population.

Teens 'n' Tots Preschool

Teens ‘n’ Tots Preschool is the laboratory school for the Careers in Education program at Lapeer County Education and Technology Center. High school students spend time in the classroom with the program instructor, Mrs. Katie Josef, studying child development and then working in our licensed preschool along with our preschool director/teacher, Mrs. Judy Mattila, to develop the skills necessary to become a quality Careers in Education worker.

 

Our philosophy is play-based. We believe and research shows that children learn best by exploring their world, manipulating materials and learning by doing. For that reason we provide an environment where they can safely explore and grow intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially.

 

We have two sessions: the AM session meets from 8:05 am to 10:05 am. The PM session meets from 11:45am to 1:45pm. Both meet on Tuesday and Thursday. Children who are kindergarten eligible (will be 4 years old by Dec.1st of this school year) may also attend an optional third day on Wednesday. Our program is geared for 3 & 4 year olds, although we also welcome 5 year olds if they will not be turning 6 during the school year. Children must be 3 by the first of October and all children must be reliably potty trained.

 

Our tuition is $360.00/ year, which may be paid in payments of $45.00/ month for 3 days a week. The cost for three-days/ week is $50.00/ month. We also offer a discount for siblings.

 

Our preschool year runs from mid-September to mid May with breaks that follow the Ed-Tech calendar. Your child’s spot in the preschool is reserved when we receive your application and $45.00 (2 days) or $50.00 (3 days) deposit (which covers September and May tuition.)
