Mr. O'Dell is available to assist students in arranging paid and/or unpaid work experiences with local businesses. This practical experience allows students to easily see the direct relationship between what is being taught in the classroom, and the skills or behaviors required to be successful in a particular industry.

JOB SHADOWING
Job Shadowing is a worksite career exploration activity that allows students to spend one or two days at a business observing or shadowing an employee while he/she performs a specific job.

UNPAID WORK EXPERIENCE
Unpaid work experience is a short-term opportunity that allows students to observe and perform occupational skills under the direct supervision of an experienced mentor at a local business.

➢ 56 Total local business partners
PAID WORK EXPERIENCE
Paid work experience allows students to build and expand on classroom skills by working in the occupation at a local business. With supervision, paid work experience students independently complete job duties and training tasks, thus making them an asset to the employer.

CONGRATULATIONS TO:
Josh Goriesky and Taylor Sullivan for acceptance to the DTE Energy Summer Internship. Josh and Taylor will participate throughout the summer in a paid internship which will take place here in Lapeer and at the DTE headquarters in Detroit.
Our students that earned a summer job, over 30 students were asked to continue working full and part-time for the companies they participated with during their worksite experience.
