Health Occupations

Program Description

The Health Occupations program is a 2-year program that prepares students for a career in a health-related field. Students will explore health careers online and by touring various departments in local hospitals and in a long-term care facility. They will also master skills needed to gain employment in an entry-level position and eligible students will have the opportunity to become certified as a Nursing Assistant in the first year program. Leadership skills will be developed through participation in HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). Anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, safety infection control, and medical abbreviations are taught along with clinical skills. This course is designed to broaden the student’s perspective on types of health occupations available.
